CD Castellón’s internationals, Awer Mabil to miss Eibar match | OneFootball

CD Castellón will be without Awer Mabil for Sunday’s meeting with Eibar, with hopes that Brian Cipenga can play before reporting for DR Congo, and Ousmane Camara set to be available.

According to El Periódico Mediterráneo, the Segunda fixture kicks off at 18.30 hours at SkyFi Castalia. If they qualify, promotion play-offs would follow.

Mabil is already in the United States with Australia after being named in their provisional World Cup squad. The final list of up to 26 must be lodged before one June. Australia play Mexico, one of the World Cup co-hosts, on 31 May at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, then Switzerland on six June at Snapdragon Stadium, San Diego.

Cipenga has been selected by DR Congo. In principle, and barring the unexpected, the club expect him to delay reporting for World Cup preparations so he can face Eibar on Sunday. He will not be available for any potential play-offs.

Camara’s Guinea are not at the World Cup, though they have a friendly against Northern Ireland on Thursday four June. The squad meet this Thursday in Málaga, but the forward has prioritised Castellón and will be available on Sunday.

In March, Mabil started the 5-1 win over Curaçao and played the second half in the 1-0 victory against Cameroon.
