CD Castellón’s steady financial growth since their last promotion to Segunda is underlined by LaLiga’s winter update to the squad cost limit. LaLiga confirmed the club’s cap has increased from 11.3 million in September to 11.5 million, the eighth highest in the division.
The limit does not always match what teams actually spend, but it serves as a useful indicator of financial health. For Castellón, it tracks a clear upward path.
Last year they began the 2024/25 season in Segunda on 8.2 million in September, rising to 8.5 million by February.
That progression has been reflected in squad planning, with recruitment aligned to these parameters. In the winter window Castellón moved several players out to offset the arrivals of forwards Álvaro García and Raúl Sánchez.
The cap covers the registrable first-team squad, including players, the head coach, assistant and fitness coach. It also counts non-registrable costs such as the reserves, academy and other areas.
