Celta Vigo 1-1 OL ratings: Kango dazzles on debut, Endrick falls short | OneFootball

Lyon snatched a late 1-1 draw at Celta Vigo in the last-16 first leg, inspired by debutant Steeve Kango. According to L'Équipe, the 19-year-old wing-back impressed, while Endrick underwhelmed despite scoring late.

Celta struck first on 25 minutes as Javi Rueda finished from Williot Swedberg’s pass, with Clinton Mata culpable in the build-up. Borja Iglesias had been booked on 20 minutes, then was denied in a one-on-one at 33. Endrick fired wide on 30 minutes and headed off target from a Tyler Morton cross at 39.

The hosts were reduced to 10 men on 54 minutes when Iglesias collected a second yellow for an elbow on Mata. Morton, playing under suspension risk, kept his composure and tested Ionut Radu on 71. Kango remained a threat, thudding the post on 73.

Roman Iaremtchouk linked play well and drew a fine save from Radu with a 76th-minute header after Endrick’s cross. Morton later made way for Tanner Tessmann on 85 minutes.

Endrick levelled on 87 minutes with his left foot, the shot squeezing past Radu after a handling error. Kango’s enterprising display, built on power and delivery, was the standout for Lyon.
