Celta Vigo star to join Sevilla on a free transfer this summer | OneFootball

A member of the attacking ranks at Celta Vigo has agreed to the terms of a free transfer to La Liga rivals Sevilla this summer.

That’s according to Mundo Deportivo, citing EFE, who point towards Alfonso ‘Alfon’ González as the player in question.

Winger Alfon has for his part enjoyed a fine campaign to date on the books of the aforementioned Celta. All told, across 28 appearances in all competitions, the 26-year-old has racked up eight goals and five assists.

Such production saw the brass at Balaídos scramble to tie Alfon down to fresh terms, ahead of the expiration of his current deal in the summer.

These efforts, however, appear to have come up short.

This comes amid confirmation that the Spaniard has made the call to take his talents elsewhere for the 2025/26 campaign.

As per MD:

‘Alfonso González played his last match with Celta at Balaídos last night, after rejecting the Galician club’s renewal offer to sign for Sevilla, with whom he has already committed for the next three seasons, according to sources close to the deal.’
