Celta’s loanee headache returns as five come back outside Giráldez’s plans

For yet another summer, Celta face a loanee headache. Five players return to Vigo and none are in Giráldez’s plans, with Carlos Dotor likeliest to move and Carles Pérez entering his final year with a salary that complicates any move.

According to AS, Unai Núñez split the season between Venezia and Valencia, playing 17 and 13 games. He adapted at full back at Mestalla, where a loan or permanent deal could be revisited if exits happen first. He is tied to Celta to 2029 on a high salary.

Manu Sánchez was a mainstay at Levante and the club want him back, as president Pablo Sánchez has indicated. The fee and wages are beyond their budget. He is under contract to 2028.

Carlos Dotor remains in action with Málaga, where he has been undisputed and now chases promotion. Málaga count on him regardless of division, which makes a move plausible. He is contracted to 2028 on a medium to low wage.

Damián Rodríguez joined Racing in winter and initially started, until defeats to Albacete, 0-4, and Zaragoza, 2-0, saw him dropped. Promotion removed any doubt and he is not in Racing’s plans. At 23, he needs another loan to gain continuity and is tied to 2028 on a low wage.

Carles Pérez went to Greece seeking prominence but returns devalued. A dog bite caused hospitalisation and almost two months out. His only goal and assist came in the last game, with nothing riding on it.
