Rangers had two immediate chances to level the scores, but Mikey Moore missed a golden opportunity and Kasper Schmeichel saved Djeidi Gassama’s shot.

Celtic nearly doubled their lead after the half-hour mark, with Jack Butland making a superb save to deny Johnny Kenny from scoring.

Moore thought he had drawn level for Rangers with a toe-poke finish, only to be flagged offside.

Rangers equalised after the break as Nicolas Raskin picked out Youssef Chermiti, who prodded the ball home.

Daizen Maeda was presented with a good chance to restore Celtic’s lead but was denied by Butland.

The hosts were made to rue their missed chances with Chermiti completing the turnaround for Rangers before the hour mark, firing past Schmeichel.

Moore made amends for his earlier miss, converting a low drive in the 71st minute to make it 3-1, after receiving a pass from Gassama.

Rangers are now level on points with Celtic in the standings. Hearts are six points ahead of the Glasgow duo.
