Celtic have ‘decided to act’ on their interest in winger Aaron Malouda, presenting their project to the Frenchman in advance of a possible deal.
The Hoops finally got their hands on the Scottish Premiership title following an eventful campaign that remained alive until the final matchday, where a 3-1 victory against Hearts ultimately settled the battle.
Another opportunity for silverware now awaits on Saturday against Dunfermline Athletic in the Scottish Cup as the Bhoys attempt to complete a domestic double.
Martin O’Neill, who arrived as interim manager, is approaching the end of his current arrangement and uncertainty continues surrounding whether the veteran will remain beyond this season, although Peter Martin believes he remains in the frame for the role.
While who will occupy the Celtic Park dugout next season is not clear at the moment, that has not prevented their transfer plans from gathering pace as several targets have already emerged.

Celtic have been criticised for their transfer business across recent windows and the Janusry signings of Joel Mvuka, Tomas Cvancara and Junior Adamu largely failed to make a big impact.
The Scottish champions have now identified 20-year-old winger Malouda as a target amid his rise at Azerbaijan outfit Sabah.
Celtic ‘have decided to act’ on their interest in the winger, according to French sports daily L’Equipe, and have presented their project to him, with contract talks also opened.
Serie B side Sampdoria are also interested in the Frenchman and have similarly presented their project in an attempt to reach an agreement.

Sabah only completed Malouda’s permanent transfer in January after he initially arrived on loan from Lille last summer and has a contract until 2029.
He netted eight times and provided four assists from 23 league appearances for his side, numbers that have inevitably generated wider attention.
The 20-year-old’s ability to operate across both flanks and occupy an attacking midfield role adds further weight to his profile.
Malouda could well move on from Sabah this summer and Celtic are making moves to ensure they are his destination.
