Celtic are in talks to sign Qarabag forward Camilo Duran, according to Sky Sports.
Manager Martin O’Neill is reportedly a keen admirer of Motherwell striker Tawanda Maswanhise, but nothing has happened on that front.
Duran bagged 15 goals and 10 assists last term and could be open to joining the Bhoys. The 24-year-old has two years left on his deal, and the clubs are in negotiations.
Kelechi Iheanacho’s future is unclear. The Nigerian is unlikely to have his loan deal made permanent, and Duran is now the top target for Celtic.
He notched five goals and one assist in 10 Champions League appearances, scoring against Eintracht Frankfurt, Benfica, Ajax and Newcastle United.
The Azerbaijan Premier League is not a high-level league, but the Colombian proved his quality against some top clubs in Europe last term.
While Duran is primarily a striker, he can also play on the right wing. His versatility would be a big asset for Celtic.
Celtic are keen to impress in the Champions League next season, and he will fancy his chances of hitting the ground running if he moves to Scotland.
