This news comes after UEFA’s European Club Finance and Investment Landscape Report, released on Thursday. UEFA President Aleksander Čeferin has referred to the report as the ultimate guide to European football finances.
The report presents positive news regarding the Scottish champions pre-tax profits. Celtic were placed on the top 10 for this category, alongside the likes of Bayern Munich, who topped the list, and Atalanta, with whom place in seventh position.
Celtic reported a pre-tax profit of £17.6m for 2024. Although this marked a significant decline from the £39.3m recorded in 2023, it was still sufficient for Celtic to earn recognition from European football’s governing body.

The substantial profits for the club were driven by factors such as the £25m sales of Jota to Saudi Pro-League club Al-Ittihad and Matt O’Riley to English Premier League side Brighton.
At the same time, consecutive Champions League campaigns played a pivotal role in Celtic’s impressive financial results.
The Hoops will likely be active with their player trading model in the summer. With the stringent rules of Financial Sustainability Regulations kicking in, Celtic will have to plan the upcoming transfer window accordingly given there is no guaranteed Champions League income due to having to play a play-off qualifier in late August.
