Celtic are set to appoint Wilfried Nancy as their new manager following the recent departure of Brendan Rodgers, according to a report from BBC Scotland. The Columbus Crew head coach is set to leave the MLS outfit to take charge of the Scottish Premiership Champions.

Rodgers was relieved of his duties in charge of the Glasgow side after a disappointing start to the season, which saw them trailing league leaders Hearts. Former Nottingham Forest manager Martin O’Neill was placed in temporary charge while the Scottish club searched for a permanent appointment. That search appears to have come to an end with Nancy set to take his place in the dugout at Celtic Park.

Nancy lands a job in Europe

After success in America, the former CF Montreal boss has been linked with numerous clubs in Europe, including those in Ligue 1. However, with Celtic set to announce the Frenchman as their new manager, rumours of a potential return to his homeland will come to an end.
