Celtic midfielder Reo Hatate ‘appears to be nearing’ a move to a club in the English Championship.
The Bhoys are experiencing a busy end to the summer transfer window as they bid to fill the holes in Martin O’Neill’s squad.
While there was initial excitement at a number of moves made in the market, such as Kasper Hogh and Camilo Duran, Celtic having not yet addressed several key areas, such as goalkeeper and right-back, has seen them come in for criticism.
Arrivals are expected, with PSV Eindhoven whizz kid Joel van den Berg set to join, while Parma midfielder Oliver Sorensen is undergoing a medical ahead of a loan move.
Departures are likely to happen too and the signs are that Hatate’s Celtic spell could be approaching its end.

According to Japanese journalist Kazu Kakiuchi, Hatate ‘appears to be nearing a move’ to a club in the English Championship.
It is unclear which team Hatate will be joining, but it takes the possibility of a return to Japan off the table.
Hatate could have moved back to the J League, however he is keen to continue in Europe and try his luck south of the border.
The 28-year-old joined Celtic in 2022 from Japanese side Kawasaki Frontale and has a substantial 193 appearances for the Bhoys to his name.

He quickly started to make a massive impression in Scottish football and was a key man as Celtic swept all before them domestically.
Hatate has won five Scottish Premiership titles with Celtic, along with two Scottish Cups and two Scottish League Cups.
The midfielder could well feel now though that his time at Parkhead has run its natural course and he is ready to embark on a new challenge in English football.
