West Ham will pay Celtic €300,000 as compensation and will be hoping Cummings hits the ground running. He bagged 30 goals at youth level this season.

The teenage sensation made his Champions League debut against Aston Villa and could be thrown into the Hammers’ first team if he proves his readiness to manager Graham Potter.

Brighton & Hove Albion, Brentford, Wolverhampton Wanderers, Fulham, Ipswich Town, Sunderland and Burnley were also keen on recruiting the Celtic academy graduate.

However, he is now on his way to West Ham and could be a great addition given his huge potential.

The Hammers are desperate to bolster their attacking ranks after finishing 14th in the Premier League.

They scored 46 league goals and will need to improve significantly in the final third next season if they are to climb the standings.

It remains to be seen whether Cummings will be the answer to their struggles in front of goal after making just one first-team appearance.

West Ham have had the talented teenager on their radar for months and were looking to sign him during the winter transfer window.

They will be glad to have pipped fierce competition to sign him, and it will be intriguing to see if he can establish himself in the Premier League.
