theRangers might have enjoyed a rare victory yesterday to march on to the semi finals of the league cup, but results elsewhere meant that the Ibrox side now occupy eleventh spot in the premiership table, a whopping nine points behind the champions, and the Celtic supporters have unsurprisingly been revelling in their woes.
Dundee’s win at Dens Park over Livingston has propelled them up the table from second bottom to fifth and before theRangers play again Aberdeen take on Dundee United in midweek and then Motherwell next Saturday and if they pick up four points theRangers will go to Livingston a week today bottom of the Scottish Premiership.

Sitting one place above bottom spot is not what the ultra rich 49ers had in mind when they completed their world record takeover of the Govan Galacticos, but due to poor results that’s just where they find themselves at the moment, and it could get even worse before they kick a ball on league duty once more.

From vocal displeasure against the manager to poor displays on the park, we have all been revelling in their temporary demise, as the best feeling in the world apart from Celtic winning is seeing the newco Ibrox club suffer.

We’re not naive enough to believe that they will find themselves in a relegation battle, as they will ultimately find their feet and go on a run of results to haul themselves back up to the top end of the table, thus ensuring Russell Martin will be a hero and we will be back to hearing about them going for world domination.

But we can enjoy their current lowly status for the time being and will be keeping a close eye on how Aberdeen get on with their game in hand this week and their trip to Tannadice on Saturday. You can be sure that Celtic supporters will absolutely love it if theRangers drop to bottom on Saturday. I’m pretty sure that the Aberdeen fans will love it too!
