The winger had been one of the names under consideration by Brendan Rodgers and the recruitment team at Parkhead but it now looks as if Villa want to loan him out to see how he develops instead of cashing in on the youngster.
The 21-year-old was recalled from his temporary spell with Stockport County where he performed really well, so that Spaniard Unai Emery could take a closer look at the attacker. It had been claimed the Midlands club were reluctant to let him go at this moment in time due to his impact in the lower leagues of English football and that a contract extension was on the cards.
Sky Sports News have now confirmed that the plan is just that and he will now be loaned out for the rest of th campaign. It reports that Hull City are in advanced negotiations with his parent club to bring him to the Championship side for the second half of the season, ultimately putting an end to the matter for wherever Celtic’s interest is concerned.

No doubt that the return of Jota has prompted Celtic’s eagerness for a deal to dry up, considering the Birmingham club wanted around £8 million for him. With the player being untested above League One in England, it would have been a big risk shelling out that kind of money for a young and fairly inexperienced player without trying him out first, much like we did with Jota first time out.
