Celtic to face Bayern Munich in the UEFA Champions League knockout play-off

Celtic will play Bayern Munich in the UEFA Champions League knockout play-off round following today’s draw.

Brendan Rodgers’ side have enjoyed a strong European campaign to date, and secured a play-off place after finishing 21st in the league phase table following three wins and three draws from their eight fixtures.

Now they face a tough test against Vincent Kompany’s side, who are currently top of the Bundesliga, in order to try and secure a place in the last 16 of the competition.

This is the third time Celtic and Bayern Munich have faced each other in the UEFA Champions League, following ties in 2003 and more recently in 2017.
