As the countdown continues to Saturday’s Scottish Cup final, Adam Idah is relishing the opportunity to walk out at Hampden with silverware on the line once again.
The Irish striker played a pivotal role in last year’s dramatic final, scoring a last-minute winner to clinch the trophy in a tense Glasgow derby clash.
Now, with the chance to make more history in green and white, Idah is embracing the challenge that lies ahead.
Speaking to Celtic TV ahead of the showpiece occasion, the Irish striker said, “It’s really exciting and we've got another opportunity to win some silverware.
'We’ve won this cup before and to have the chance to do it again will be amazing.'
“Everyone says you come to Celtic to win trophies. That was one of the main factors why I came back, and to have the chance to win the Treble would be amazing.
"You're lucky to win one trophy, so to win three would be really special.”
Reflecting on last season’s unforgettable finale at Hampden, Idah admitted that even now, the emotions of that day remain difficult to put into words.
“Last year was an amazing game for me and the team," he said. “It was my first time doing that so to have the chance to do that again would be amazing, but hopefully we don’t leave it too late next time!
“At the time when I scored it didn’t sink in. It probably took me about a week for it to actually kick in but it’s unbelievable and I’ve said it so many times - you don’t even think about that when you are a kid.
"That feeling - I was so proud and happy to be able to do that.”
Celtic will face Aberdeen for the sixth time this season, with four wins and one draw already secured, but Idah knows a Cup Final brings a completely different dynamic.
“It’s not necessarily which team plays better is going to win," he said. "We need to have the right attitude, perform well, be confident and believe we can go and win.”
