Martin O’Neill says he will feel a mix of nerves, excitement and emotion when he leads Celtic into today’s title decider at Celtic Park.

The Hoops go into the final day knowing victory over Hearts would secure the league title, with a full house at Paradise ready to drive the team on in what promises to be a dramatic afternoon.

Speaking to Celtic TV ahead of the game, the manager reflected on the importance of the occasion, the journey that has brought Celtic to this point, and the role the supporters have played in recent weeks.

"Nervousness, excitement, a feeling that the game means something," he said.

'The match has a meaning because of Wednesday night, and just a full house at the stadium with people together as well too, as it was against Rangers last week.'

The manager also spoke about the remarkable run of form since the defeat at Tannadice, a turning point which left Celtic needing to win every league game to put themselves back into title contention.

Since then, the champions have responded with character, resilience and consistency, setting up one final push in front of the Celtic support.

“It’s been a terrific run, there’s no question about it, but we have had to find ourselves in front at the end of each game. That hasn’t been easy,” he added.

“The togetherness again over the last number of weeks has been magnificent, and maybe sometimes the fans don’t even realise that they have actually pulled the team over the line.”
