Celtic pipped Glasgow City 4-3 on penalties in the Sky Sports Cup quarter-finals, Aberdeen, Hibernian and Rangers also progressing.

After 120+ goalless minutes, penalties were required to separate Celtic and Glasgow City. Celtic goalkeeper Kelsey Daugherty was the hero with two saves, while Natalie Ross netted the decider for the Hoops.

Kathleen McGovern’s second-half hat-trick saw Hibernian win through at Partick Thistle, whose Cheryl McCulloch had cancelled out Poppy Lawson’s acrobatic effort from outside the box for Hibs.

Katie Wilkinson got three of Rangers’ eight goals at Motherwell, with one apiece by Charlie Devlin, Leah Eddie, Rio Hardy, Kirsty Howat and Liv McLoughlin, while Amy Sharkey scored for the hosts when 3-0 down.

Aberdeen had to come from a goal behind to see off SWPL 2 side Boroughmuir Thistle, the hosts striking through Emily Arthur before goals from Hannah Stewart, Darcie Miller and Niamh Noble sealed the Dons’ progress.

The semi-final draw will be made on Sky Sports News this Tuesday afternoon.
