AC Milan’s move to San Donato has been widely discussed in the last year, and a report has looked at the history of the proposed move, however, it is not the only option open to the club.

It seems growingly likely that Milan will move to San Donato after months of back and forth about San Siro, especially considering the Rossoneri have already put down €40 million into the project so far and taken on legal battles.

Today, Calcio e Finanza (via Calciomercato.com) have looked back at the history of the plans. As the report recalls, the Diavolo’s initial ‘Integrative Intervention Plan’ – dating back to 2021 – set out plans to build an 18,000-seat arena, a sports centre, a sports business centre, a scientific sports high school, a sports residence and offices, and a sports medical centre.

However, in 2023, SportLifeCity presented a change, an alternative to build a 70,000-seater arena. There are other changes to the original plans for buildings with different functions – accommodations, commercial areas, and entertainment functions. This is the plan that is in operation today, and the one that would be acted on if the Rossoneri were to move to San Donato.

Alternatively, Milan could look to move to a new stadium within the Municipality of Milan by the existing situation with the San Siro Stadium in Via Achille and Casa Milan in the Fiera area, this has already been discussed by Paolo Scaroni, and the plan could involve Inter.
