The match in Bergamo started with Atalanta on the front foot. On three minutes, Zalewski slipped Scamacca in, but the striker could not control under tight pressure from Anton.

On four minutes, Kolasinac surged out of defence and teed up Zalewski on the left, whose angled drive was fingertipped wide for a corner.

A short corner on five minutes saw Pasalic nod down and Dortmund scramble clear. Moments later, Atalanta led 1-0 as Scamacca found the net.

Atalanta lost the first leg 2-0 in Germany. De Ketelaere and Raspadori are still unavailable, Ederson is only fit for the bench, and Scamacca returned to the starting XI. Dortmund are missing Niklas Sule, Filippo Mane and the cup-tied Patrick Drewes, though Emre Can is back after a month out.

Later, Juventus need a miracle to recover from their 5-2 defeat to Victor Osimhen’s Galatasaray in the first leg.
