Kane struck again on 54 minutes, turning away from Hien and Kossounou to curl into the top corner for 2-0. Two minutes later Lennart Karl made it 3-0, Ofli dispossessing Bellanova before a swift switch via Kane and Luis Diaz set up an angled finish.

Atalanta introduced Samardzic and De Roon for De Ketelaere and Ederson on 57 minutes. A potential penalty on 61 minutes for a Kim Min-jae handball after Sulemana’s low ball was rejected by VAR, the contact having deflected off his leg with the arm deemed in a natural position.

Bernasconi could not control a back-post cross on 65 minutes, then Scamacca’s handball halted another opening. Pasalic headed Bernasconi’s delivery into the turf on 69 minutes, too tame to trouble Urbig.

Luis Diaz added a fourth on 70 minutes, dinking over Sportiello after Scamacca stumbled and play continued, past Kossounou. Krstovic and Raspadori replaced Scamacca and Sulemana on 71 minutes. Bayern sent on Jackson, Gnabry and Pavic for Kane, Bischof and Stanisic on 72. At 73 minutes Bellanova’s near-post strike was saved, then Scalvini headed over from a Raspadori corner.
