Darwin Núñez could leave Al Hilal, with a return to European football back on the table as his future remains open. The former Benfica striker is not a priority for the Saudi club’s hierarchy, and Tottenham have been among the clubs linked.

TEAMtalk reports that a Champions League last-16 side are monitoring the 26-year-old and considering a move. Flamengo and River Plate have also been credited with interest.

A return to Europe could suit Núñez and his representatives. He wants regular game time to protect his place with Uruguay and is keen not to lose prominence at this stage of his career.

Signed from Liverpool in 2025 for €53 million, Núñez is under contract with Al Hilal until 2028. His wage, understood to be more than €450,000 per week, may prove a hurdle, and Tottenham would be willing to move only if he accepted a reduction.

This season he has played 24 times for Al Hilal, 16 in the Saudi league, six in the Asian Champions League and two in the Saudi Cup. Across 1,667 minutes he has nine goals and five assists, and is valued at €35 million.
