The game ended 3–1 in favour of Chelsea at Stamford Bridge, marking Liverpool’s first match as champions. While the guard of honor was a special moment for Liverpool fans, it was clear that the team was already on the beach. That said, there’s still plenty to discuss regarding the match itself.

While this match may not have any significant implications in the grand scheme of things, it’s still important to acknowledge the players who performed well and highlight areas where Liverpool fell short. Curtis Jones, Trent Alexander-Arnold, and Mohamed Salah delivered lacklustre performances, as though they’d already checked out for the holiday. On the positive side, Wataru Endo stood out, providing a much-needed spark after the Reds’ disappointing display. The Japanese international was everywhere, and it’s clear he’s improving in both his passing and dribbling. Alisson Becker also continued his excellent end-of-season form, once again saving Liverpool from further embarrassment.
It’s evident that Liverpool will need reinforcements in the summer transfer window, especially after worrying performances from the likes of Kostas Tsimikas and Darwin Nunez. With Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk’s contracts already extended, it’s crucial that the manager is supported with additional signings. He has more than proven himself as the right man for the job. With Liverpool’s season now over, it’s clear that both the players and fans have their sights set on one thing: the Premier League trophy.
