Igor Tudor has lost all four games in charge of Tottenham
Igor Tudor has called on Tottenham’s players not to be victims of the club’s situation, which he has described as being like “black magic.”
Spurs find themselves one point above the Premier League relegation zone and could be in the bottom three by the time they kick off against Liverpool on Sunday.
Spurs’ season is spiralling out of control after they were beaten 5-2 by Atletico Madrid to leave their Champions League hopes in tatters, and Tudor admits it is not an easy situation, but one only his players can rectify.
“Tough (week), for sure. Not just because of last game, but because of the period and the past,” Tudor said in his pre-match press conference on Friday afternoon.
“Not easy situation, not an easy moment and from other side a big challenge to change things. Like everything in life, you can choose how to see the situation. So, you can stay and cry or you can fight.
“You can be the victim or you can say I can change something. This is the message I want to start and what I told to the players.”

Despite becoming the first Spurs manager in the club’s history to lose their first four games in charge, Tudor will seemingly be in the dugout for this weekend’s trip to Anfield.
The Croat has divided opinion with his tough love approach and drew criticism after seeming to blank goalkeeper Antonin Kinsky after substituting him 17 minutes into his Champions League debut against Atletico on Tuesday.
The Czech goalkeeper was brought into the side in place of Guglielmo Vicario, but made two huge errors as Spurs fell 3-0 down inside the opening quarter of an hour at the Metropolitano.
Tudor, though, has made a determined plea to his players to “stand up with courage” as they look for their first league win of 2026.
There is, he admits, “a lot of empty things” at the club, but also a brighter future, if they can accept the challenge ahead of them after questions were raised about the application of some players.
“Everyone speaking, everyone has opinions and the life is always how you see it. The bottle is always half empty or half full. Here there is nothing full, there is a lot of empty things but difficult moments don’t last forever.

“It will pass and I believe the players who will take this as a challenge, as an opportunity will stand up with the courage to change things, after this period they will become better people and better players.
“So, in tough moments it’s always about that, it’s always about us. In the last period, a lot of things about what is the club, the problems, no one can do nothing and this like victim-ism, like we were victims.
“I said this morning to the players totally opposition things. We are the team and we are the staff. It’s all about us. All the bullshit, all the other things are b******* and sorry to use this word, but it’s on us.”
