Mohamed Koné has had a fantastic start to his Charleroi career. He has made some eye catching saves, including a penalty save during the sides derby day defeat to Standard Liege this past weekend. The club have now revealed that Koné played the entire second half with a broken hand. Despite the hindering injury, the goalkeeper still managed to keep Standard at bay for the entire second half and deny Denis Eckert from the spot.
It is unclear how long the goalkeeper will be out for. In his place, former RWDM goalkeeper Théo Defourny is likely to step in. The goalkeeper had a strong season with the Brussels side despite their relegation, so should be able to provide adequate cover for the Ivorian while he is out. However, the 22-year-old has been impressive so far, so Defourny will certainly need to try and match the level that has been set so far this season.
