Charles could end March without a minute if he is unused when Corinthians host Flamengo at 20:30 on Sunday in the Brasileirão’s eighth round at Neo Química Arena.

According to Meu Timao, the midfielder last featured on 25 February in a 1-1 draw with Cruzeiro in round four, starting and being replaced by Rodrigo Garro after 67 minutes.

Since then, Corinthians have faced Novorizontino, Coritiba, Santos and Chapecoense, with Charles named on the bench each time. A post-semi-final break after elimination to Novorizontino in the Paulistão left 10 days without a game until 11 March, longer than their eight-day pre-season.

Competition in midfield has also intensified with Allan’s arrival. Since debuting on 12 February in a 2-0 win over Red Bull Bragantino, Allan has played every game, totalling nine appearances, five starts.

In the Cruzeiro draw, Allan came on in the second half and has since become Dorival Júnior’s leading option in that role. If Charles does not feature against Flamengo, he will pass the one-month mark without minutes, with matches only resuming on the first of April because of the FIFA window.

Charles has made 71 appearances for Corinthians, including 36 starts, with 40 wins, 22 draws and nine defeats. He has two goals and one assist, and has won the Campeonato Paulista and Copa do Brasil in 2025, plus the Supercopa do Brasil in 2026.
