Charles De Ketelaere says he held PSG talks as €50m fee deterred suitors | OneFootball

Charles De Ketelaere discussed summer interest, Atalanta’s valuation and his long-term aims while on international duty with Belgium.

“There were interested teams, but when you see the costs of transfers in the current market, it’s not always easy to leave. I know Atalanta were asking a lot, I think the figure was around 50 million euros. But you have to find a team that can afford it. In the Premier League, several teams can, but it hasn’t happened” he told La Derniere Heure.

“I spoke with PSG, but in the end they chose Ferran Torres.”

“I’m happy at Atalanta. I know how important it is to be a regular starter, since my time at Milan. I’d like to fight for the titles one day. I have this ambition, but I’m 25 and I still have time.”

The Belgian, 25, has rebuilt his form at Atalanta after a barren year at Milan, where he made 40 appearances without scoring.

He has recorded 32 goals and 32 assists in 148 appearances since moving to Bergamo. His contract runs to June 2028 and is worth a gross annual €3.21 million.
