According to Meu Timao, Charles will complete more than one month without an appearance for Corinthians.

His last outing came in the 1-1 draw at Cruzeiro at the Mineirão in the Brasileirão on 25 February 2026. Corinthians fielded a rotated side, he started and was replaced on 67 minutes by Rodrigo Garro while the team trailed and chased an equaliser.

He was unused against Novorizontino in the Campeonato Paulista semi-final, a 1-0 defeat that confirmed elimination, and also versus Coritiba, Santos, Chapecoense and Flamengo in the league.

One reason for the gap was the calendar pause following that Paulista exit, with 10 days without a game before the team returned on 11 March, longer than their eight-day pre-season.

Charles began the year with opportunities after Maycon’s contract was not renewed and José Martínez reported back late before his deal was terminated. Gradually he lost minutes as youngster André Luiz emerged and reinforcements arrived in midfield, including Matheus Pereira and Allan.

In 2026 he has played in 10 of the club’s 19 matches, totalling 582 minutes. Corinthians resume on the first of April after the FIFA international window, away to Fluminense at the Maracanã in the Brasileirão.

Across his spell he has made 71 appearances for the club, 36 as a starter, registering 40 wins, 22 draws and nine defeats. He has scored two goals and provided one assist, and has lifted the 2025 Campeonato Paulista and Copa do Brasil and the 2026 Supercopa do Brasil.
