Charlotte FC have sold Ecuadorian midfielder Jordy Alcivar to Independiente Del Valle on a permanent basis, the club announced Thursday.
Alcivar returns to his homeland after just one season in MLS, playing 22 times across all competitions during CLTFC's inaugural campaign, notching one goal and one assist.
Charlotte haven't revealed the financial details of Alcivar's transfer but have confirmed they will receive a percentage of any future sale, while his departure opens up a valuable international roster slot for Christian Lattanzio.
“Everyone at the club thanks Jordy for his time at Charlotte FC and wishes him the best throughout the rest of his career,” sporting director Zoran Krneta said in a club press release.
“This move gives us added roster flexibility as we approach the winter transfer window to improve our squad ahead of the 2023 season.”
Independiente are the second Ecuadorian club Alcivar has represented having spent three years with L.D.U. Quito between 2018 and 2021, winning league, cup, and Super Cup titles. At international level, the 23-year-old is capped once for his country at senior level.
