Durham went top of the table on goal-difference from Charlton ahead of Sunday’s three fixtures, Portsmouth suffered a second 3-0 defeat, as two first-half efforts set up a Wildcats win.

Hannah Blake hit the opener for Durham after a dozen minutes from 25 yards after picking up a ball from Kaila Novak, who also provided an assist for the second goal in first-half stoppage time by Lily Crosthwaite.

Ten minutes into added time at the end of the second half, Beth Hepple curled a corner straight into the Pompey net to make it 3-0.

Sheffield United went down 1-0 to the Addicks at Bramall Lane, with the visitors making the breakthrough just before the hour mark.

Carla Humphrey went on a run down the wing, slipping the ball inside to Ellie Brazil who hit the back of the net.
