The Addicks and the Royals both saw the best of a French striker who turned his career around following a disappointing spell with the Foxes.
Charlton Athletic and Reading FC both saw the best of French striker Yann Kermorgant, who showed what he was capable of in the EFL after leaving Leicester City.
Kermorgant joined Leicester on a free transfer shortly after leaving Stade Reims in the summer of 2009, but his spell at the King Power Stadium did not go as well as he would have hoped.
The striker only netted one league goal for the Foxes, but his poor goalscoring record will always be overshadowed by his missed penalty during a shootout against Cardiff City in the second leg of the Championship play-off semi-final in 2010.
Kermorgant attempted to beat David Marshall with a panenka, which was easily saved by the goalkeeper and contributed to the Bluebirds progressing to Wembley at Leicester's expense.
He was sent on loan the following season before being released in 2011, meaning that he never pulled on a Leicester shirt again after making that costly mistake from 12 yards in Wales.

After being released by the Foxes, Kermorgant linked up with former Leicester coach Chris Powell, who was manager of League One side Charlton Athletic.
The Frenchman discussed his decision to move to The Valley in an interview at the time, as per Sky Sports.
"I had a number of offers from clubs in France, but during my time at Leicester City, I had an excellent relationship with Chris Powell," Kermorgant said.
"Once I met Chris, and discussed his style of play and his ambitions for the club, I felt that Charlton is going to be an exciting place to be over the next few years, and I want to be a part of it."
Kermorgant formed an excellent strike partnership with Bradley Wright-Phillips and scored 12 goals during the 2011/12 campaign, helping the Addicks win promotion to the Championship in his debut season at the club.
He then scored 12 goals and provided nine assists the following season as Charlton finished 9th in the second tier — their highest league finish since being relegated from the Premier League in 2007.
After he was bizarrely sold to AFC Bournemouth in January 2014, Kermorgant continued to impress in the Championship, helping the Cherries reach the Premier League, before joining Reading in 2016.
The striker fired the Royals to the Championship play-off final during the 2016/17 season, scoring 18 league goals during the regular season as well as the winning goal against Fulham in the play-off semi-final from the penalty spot, showing how far he had come since his missed panenka for Leicester at the same stage seven years earlier.
While Reading lost on penalties against Huddersfield Town in the play-off final, Kermorgant scored his effort during the shootout, and he will always be fondly remembered at the club for his excellent performances in blue and white.
Supporters of Charlton, Reading and Bournemouth all got to see the best of a striker who truly impressed in the EFL, and ended his career with 65 goals and 30 assists in the Championship.

Leicester will not look back on their association with Kermorgant quite as fondly, as he went on to haunt the club in the years that followed his departure from the King Power Stadium.
The striker was met with a chorus of boos whenever he faced his former club, but that did not stop him thriving against them in a Charlton shirt.
Kermorgant won 2-1 in each of the three games he played against Leicester for the Addicks, and he scored on every occasion.
He spoke about his love for scoring against the Foxes in an interview with The Telegraph in 2013, shortly after netting his third goal in as many games against them.
"I hear the abuse but I love it," Kermorgant said.
