Charlton Athletic seize chance against nine-man Sheffield United as Carey strikes after restart

Charlton Athletic beat Sheffield United 1-0 at The Valley to rise from 19th to 18th in the Championship, as the visitors slipped from 16th to 17th.
Djibril Soumaré was sent off in the 35th minute for the Blades, leaving the visitors under pressure before the interval.
Japhet Tanganga was also dismissed in the second minute of first half stoppage time, reducing the Blades to nine men.
After the restart, substitutes Lyndon Dykes and Sonny Carey combined for the winner, with Carey finishing from Dykes' pass (46.). It was Dykes' first assist for Charlton.
Thomas Kaminski made two first half saves to keep Charlton level, then organised calmly as the hosts controlled territory.
Charlton Athletic finished with 58.1% possession and 12 attempts, forcing nine corners as they pressed home the advantage.
