​Chelsea and Leicester charged for touchline clash | OneFootball

The Football Association is charging Chelsea and Leicester City following a clash between players and coaches from both teams on Tuesday night.

The two teams played a tense Premier League game at Stamford Bridge, which Chelsea won 2-1 to move into third place in the league.

They also met in the FA Cup final last weekend, which Leicester won 1-0.

Following that game, Leicester defender Daniel Amartey was seen throwing away a pennant Chelsea presented to the Foxes.

Chelsea players were unhappy with Amartey and Leicester in general, and tensions boiled over in the league clash on Tuesday.

An FA statement read: "Chelsea FC and Leicester City FC have both been charged with a breach of FA Rule E20.1 following their Premier League fixture on Tuesday 18 May 2021.

"It is alleged that both clubs failed to ensure their players and/or club officials conducted themselves in an orderly fashion and/or refrained from provocative behaviour during the 93rd minute.

"Chelsea FC and Leicester City FC both have until Tuesday 25 May 2021 to provide their respective responses."
