Chelsea and Manchester United are weighing up a summer move for Tyler Adams.
The United States international has rebuilt his reputation at Bournemouth, and his form has not gone unnoticed at two of the Premier League’s biggest clubs.
His appeal lies in his energy and pressing. Adams is a relentless ball-winner who thrives on breaking up play, exactly the profile elite sides covet.
United’s analysts reportedly rate his output as comparable to Manchester City’s Rodri in some metrics.
There is a cost-effective angle, too. Bournemouth could consider offers in the region of £30m, according to CaughtOffside, a figure that looks modest next to the fees attached to rivals like Elliot Anderson.
The Forest midfielder could command upwards of £80m this summer. The Cherries, though, are under no pressure to sell.
Adams is contracted until 2028 and remains an important figure in their midfield. Only a substantial bid is likely to change their thinking.
For United, the interest fits a clear need. Casemiro has left, and the club want fresh legs in the middle of the park.
Adams is viewed as a cheaper alternative to pricier targets such as West Ham’s Mateus Fernandes.
Chelsea’s admiration runs deeper still. The Blues came close to signing him back in 2023 and have continued to track his progress as they assess their midfield depth.
There is a familiar face among the suitors, too. Liverpool have also been linked, with new boss Andoni Iraola knowing Adams well from their time together at Bournemouth.
Any deal is likely to wait until after the World Cup. Adams has been an ever-present for the USA on home soil, impressing in wins over Paraguay and Australia as the co-hosts enjoy a strong run.
