PSG have a major decision looming—and clubs like Inter Milan and Manchester United are watching closely. Is Gianluigi Donnarumma still their long-term answer in goal?

The Italian shot-stopper is under contract until 2026, but interest from top European sides is growing. Since joining from AC Milan in 2021, Donnarumma has come through in crucial moments, especially in penalty shootouts and high-pressure matches. Still, his stint in Paris has had its ups and downs.

One moment that continues to follow him is his costly error against Real Madrid in the 2022 Champions League, which cast doubt on his ability to deliver on the biggest stage.

Now that PSG have finally lifted a European trophy, the focus is on the future. With no extension in place, the club is being linked to several potential replacements—suggesting Donnarumma’s role may no longer be secure.

If an extension doesn’t come together soon, PSG may have to consider a summer sale to avoid losing him for free.

As for replacements, BILD has linked PSG to Marc-André ter Stegen if he ends up leaving Barcelona. Other clubs reportedly interested in Donnarumma include AC Milan, Manchester City, Juventus, and Newcastle United.

Fichajes reports that Chelsea and Manchester United have ramped up their interest in Marc-André ter Stegen after a notable move from Barcelona, who just signed Joan García for €25 million.

At Old Trafford, concerns over André Onana’s performances have reportedly led the club’s leadership to explore other goalkeeping options. Ter Stegen, with his experience on the big stage and strong distribution skills, fits the mold of what United are looking for in their next No. 1.

Chelsea are also weighing a change in goal. New manager Enzo Maresca wants a goalkeeper who brings leadership and top-level experience as the club prepares for a return to the Champions League, per the report.
