Paris Saint-Germain are seemingly all set to sign Barcelona’s Dro Fernandez (18), however, two Premier League giants are making a late play to sign the Spain youth international, Marc Mechenoua understands.
The midfielder has made five first-team appearances for Barca this season, including one appearance in the UEFA Champions League. However, he now has an agreement in place to join PSG this month. The move has been touted for much of the month, but a deal is now nearing a conclusion, as per Fabrizio Romano. PSG are expected to pay slightly higher than the €6m release clause, in order to maintain their relationship with the Catalan club.
However, PSG’s advances have not deterred Chelsea and Manchester City from adding themselves to the mix. Mechenoua understands that the two clubs have been aggressive in recent days in trying to turn Fernandez away from a move to the Parc des Princes. Both have been in contact with the player’s entourage, whilst Borussia Dortmund have submitted several offers for the player.
