Chelsea are apparently discussing one transfer option that will fail to see them fix their January needs this winter window.
We have been hearing about how Chelsea desperately want to sign a new centre back this window in order to help new head coach Liam Rosenior play the style of football he wants to play, by playing short out from the back.
At the moment, the current defenders he has at his disposal are not the best at doing this whilst under big pressure from the opposition. Any team that press high with intensity, Chelsea’s current defenders, and goalkeeper, are going to struggle a lot with.
So Chelsea want to bring in a new centre back who can be the go to man to play it out short to and start that deep build up.

Jeremy Jacquet playing for Rennes.
Jeremy Jacquet is the chosen guy to do that apparently, with Chelsea working on a deal to bring the youngster in from French side Rennes this week. However, that one has already turned into one of those annoying sagas and Chelsea have even been linked with alternative options this week, one of which is Marcos Senesi of Bournemouth. However, it looks like if Chelsea did make a move to try and sign him, then it would be resisted by his club apparently.
But one way Chelsea feel they can get the deal done for Jacquet is if they sign him now and loan him back to Rennes until the summer.
According to RMC Sport in France, Chelsea are now open to signing Jérémy Jacquet, with an immediate LOAN BACK to Rennes until the summer. The Blues have recalled Datro Fofana to free up a loan slot abroad.
Rennes and Chelsea need to agree on a fee. They want more than £50m. Talks continue, says the report.
