In a recent report, The Sun mentioned that Chelsea are among the clubs hoping to land Aston Villa talent Morgan Rogers. It has been stated that the Blues would have to rival Liverpool, Arsenal and Manchester United in the race to land the English playmaker.

Rogers’ Impressive Form In English Football

Rogers has enjoyed a decent run of form at the West Midlands club in the previous campaign as he has put in a string of eye-catching displays for them in the Premier League. The 23-year-old has found the back of the net ten times and earned seven goals in 44 matches for Aston Villa this season in multiple competitions.

The English playmaker is currently one of the best playmakers in the Premier League. Therefore, it won’t be easy for Chelsea to try and snap him up this summer.

His current contract at Villa Park will expire in the summer of 2031, which could make it difficult for the Blues to sign him on the cheap in the upcoming transfer window.

Should Chelsea Boss Liam Rosenior Get Rogers On Board?

Rogers is a good dribbler with the ball at his feet and can shoot it with venom from long range. He has got the vision to engineer a few promising chances for his teammates in and around the opponent’s penalty area.

The English sensation is primarily an attacking midfielder but can also fill in as a wide player if told to do so by his manager. He has proven himself to be a reliable performer in the Premier League and won’t take much time to adjust to life at Chelsea.

Rogers would undoubtedly enhance the quality of Liam Rosenior’s frontline. He has what it takes to fight for a regular first-team spot at the West London club in the coming years.

At 23, Rogers has his peak years ahead of him, which makes him a decent choice for the Blues to pursue at the end of this campaign. He will also help Chelsea get back to challenging for a top-four spot in the Premier League over the next few years. Therefore, Rosenior should focus on getting him on board in the summer transfer window.
