In a recent report, Fichajes claimed that Chelsea are keen on recruiting Barcelona youngster Dro Fernandez. It has been mentioned that the Blues would have to rival Manchester City in the race to recruit the Spanish teenager next year.
Fernandez came through the youth ranks of Barcelona and has done remarkably well to break into the Catalan club’s Atletico team. He has already made one appearance for Barca Atletico but is still waiting to get his call-up for Hansi Flick’s senior team.
The 17-year-old is among the best young talents in Spanish football. Hence, it is no surprise that the Blues are keen on acquiring his services next year.
His current contract at the Nou Camp will run out in the summer of 2027. Thus, Chelsea could potentially snap Fernandez up on a cut-price deal at the end of this campaign.

Fernandez is a good dribbler with the ball and can make some driving runs with it out on the wide areas. He can shoot the ball with power from long range and has got the vision to engineer a few promising chances for his teammates in the final third. Fernandez has managed to score some important goals for Barcelona’s youth sides recently.
The Spanish sensation is primarily an attacking midfielder but can also fill in as a left-sided wide player if told to do so by his manager. He has the potential to be a generational talent, so the Blues would be wise to step up their efforts to land him next year.
Fernandez would no doubt add a lot of quality to Chelsea‘s academy. He has undoubtedly got the potential to be a success story at Stamford in the long run.
At 17, Fernandez will only get better with each year. He is definitely a prospect to watch out for in the future. Therefore, Chelsea should focus on bringing him on board this January or at the end of this campaign. However, Maresca has to be patient with his development before he can promote him to his first team.
