In a recent report, journalist Graeme Bailey claimed that Chelsea are leading the race for Valerenga youngster Gabriel Rajkovic. It has been mentioned that the Blues are facing competition from Arsenal, Liverpool, Manchester City, Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur in the race to land the Norwegian wide player.

Rajkovic’s Impressive Rise In Norwegian Football

Rajkovic joined Valerenga from KFUM Oslo’s youth side in 2025 and has since managed to break into their senior team. The 15-year-old has already made 14 senior appearances for the Norwegian outfit so far, scoring three goals and picking up one assist in multiple competitions.

The Norwegian talent is currently among the most gifted young wingers in his homeland. Hence, it is no wonder that the Blues are among the clubs hoping to land him.

His current contract with Valerenga will run out at the end of 2028, which could make it tough for Chelsea to sign him on the cheap next year.

Chelsea Are Leading The Race For Rajkovic: Is He A Prospect For The Future?

Rajkovic is a good dribbler with the ball at his feet and can make a few driving runs with it out in the wide areas. He has the eye to play some decisive passes in and around the opponent’s penalty area and can shoot the ball with venom from long range.

The Norwegian talent has even added a few goals and assists to his game at such a young age. Rajkovic is primarily a left-sided wide player but can also fill in as a centre-forward or as a right-winger if told to do so by his manager. However, only time will tell whether he can cope with the physicality and high intensity of Premier League football if the Blues manage to win the race for his services.

We can expect Rajkovic to enhance the quality of Chelsea boss Xabi Alonso’s attack in the long run. However, at the moment, he could struggle to get into the West London club’s senior squad.

At 15, the future looks quite bright for Rajkovic as long as he continues to improve with each year. He is undoubtedly a prospect to watch out for in the long run, so Alonso should focus on going all out to sign him next year.
