In a recent report, Fichajes mentioned that Chelsea are set to rival Bayern Munich for Nottingham Forest defender Murillo. It is understood that the Blues are keeping a keen eye on the Brazilian centre-back ahead of a potential move for him next year.
Murillo had a solid campaign at the Midlands club as he put in a series of impressive displays for them on the defensive end of the pitch. The 23-year-old made 39 appearances for Nottingham last season, scoring a couple of goals across all fronts.
The Brazilian centre-back was a decent performer when defending inside his half as he made 53 tackles, 69 blocks, 36 interceptions and 249 clearances in the Premier League. He has even been tidy when distributing possession from the back after completing 78.5% of his attempted passes in top-flight football (stats via fbref.com).
His current contract at the City Ground will run out in the summer of 2029. Thus, it won’t be easy for the Blues to sign the Brazilian talent on the cheap next year.

Murillo is a solid tackler of the ball and can time his challenges well to secure the ball back for his team inside his half. He usually puts his foot through the ball when the opposition are on the front foot and is proficient at playing his way out from the back.
The Brazilian sensation has already proven his worth in the Premier League and won’t take much time to adjust to life at Chelsea. However, he has made a slow start to this campaign, so the Blues would have to be patient with his progress before they can get the best out of him.
We can expect Murillo to bring more bite and steel to Enzo Maresca’s defence. He is more than capable of fighting for a regular first-team spot at the West London club in the coming years.
At 23, the future looks quite bright for the Brazilian defensive ace as long as he continues to improve with each season. He might even help the Blues compete across all competitions in the future. Therefore, Murillo would be a great choice for the West London giants to consider this January or at the end of this campaign.
