Chelsea are apparently being given a free run at signing Xabi Alonso as their next manager after Liverpool make a decision.

Alonso obviously used to play for Liverpool before he retired and went into management, and the big prediction is that one day he will return their as the manager. However, that does not look like happening any time soon and as a result, Chelsea should apparently get a free run at him now this summer as they look to appoint a replacement for Liam Rosenior.

It will certainly help The Blues, because I am sure if Liverpool did decide to come in for Alonso then he would jump at that chance. It could end up now being Chelsea’s gain, and Blues fans will be hoping it stays that way.

According to Liverpool reporter David Lynch, Liverpool are ready to pass on Xabi Alonso this summer and Chelsea look set to be given a free run at signing him.

Liverpool are said to be sticking with Arne Slot for now and are not advancing on Alonso.
