Chelsea rounded off their pre-season campaign with a resounding 4-1 win over Milan at Stamford Bridge.
Scorers: Coubiș OG 5', João Pedro 8', Delap 67' (pen), 90'; Fofana 70'
Sent off: Coubiș
The reigning world champions found themselves ahead after just five minutes when Andrei Coubiș turned the ball into his own net from a Reece James free kick.
João Pedro doubled the Blues' advantage a short while later by heading home from a pinpoint cross by Pedro Neto to the middle of the Stamford Bridge penalty area.
Things went from bad to worse for the Rossoneri as Coubiș received a straight red card for pulling back the Brazil international as he attempted to bear down on goal.
Liam Delap would get his name on the scoresheet after the break when the former Ipswich man converted his effort from the penalty spot just minutes after replacing Pedro.
But Milan would not be denied from getting on the board before it was all said and done, with Youssouf Fofana making it 3-1 in the 70th minute, only for Delap to complete his brace just before the full-time whistle.
Maresca's troops now look ahead to their opening Premier League fixture next weekend when they lock horns with Crystal Palace at the Bridge.
