A late goal from Aggie Beever-Jones was enough to settle the contest in-front of a crowd of 21,327.
Both sides created a few close chances within the opening 15 minutes, but neither were able to trouble Rachael Laws or Hannah Hampton.
Marie Höbinger went close to finding the afternoon’s opener for Liverpool before half-time, but her shot from outside of the box went over the bar.
At the other end, Wieke Kaptein looked to give the champions the lead, but she was unable to fire the ball home from close range.
After a frustrating first half for both sides, Chelsea created the first chance of the second period but Beever-Jones sent a shot wide.
The South West Londoners started to gain momentum in attack but they were finding no luck in-front of goal; Sandy Baltimore became the latest player to shoot wide of the target.
After a period of Liverpool possession, Chelsea carved out another chance but Johanna Rytting Kaneryd’s effort was saved by Laws in the bottom right corner of her goal.
Liverpool also continued their search for a goal but Taylor Hinds’ free-kick went off target.
The contest looked set to end goalless until in added time, Beever-Jones capitalised from a fast break and netted the winner for the home side. Ashley Lawerence found the forward, whose shot from the right side of the box nestled in the back of the net.
Sonia Bompastor’s Blues end the campaign unbeaten having won 19 and drawn three of their 22 league matches.
