Chelsea duo ‘likely to leave’ before transfer deadline | OneFootball

Nicolas Jackson and Liam Delap are both ‘likely’ to leave Chelsea before the end of the transfer window.

The forward pair were not included in Xabi Alonso’s squad for the 3-1 win over Real Sociedad on Sunday, as transfer speculation continues.

Jackson has returned to Chelsea after spending last season on loan at Bayern Munich, and is subject of interest from Aston Villa. Chelsea value the Senegal international at around £65m.

Delap also has suitors and is free to leave Chelsea after a disappointing debut campaign. He scored just twice in 41 appearances and Chelsea are ready to sanction his exit.

Italian side Como have expressed interest in the 23-year-old, though Delap’s preference is to remain in the Premier League. Everton, Fulham, and Nottingham Forest have all been linked with a move for Delap, who joined Chelsea from Ipswich for £30m last summer.

Sky Sports are reporting that both players are likely to leave before the closure of the transfer window, with Alonso ready to proceed with Joao Pedro and Danny Welbeck as his number nine options.
