Brentford will be licking their lips thinking about taking on Chelsea in this week’s Friday night kick off in the Premier League.

Brentford away is a game that is becoming pretty scary for Chelsea fans.

They have a great record against the Blues already, and right now they look especially well placed to pick up another good result. Playing them under the lights on a Friday night is not going to be easy. They haven’t lost yet this season, and they match up so well with the issues in Xabi Alonso’s team.

Quite incredibly, Chelsea’s last Premier League clean sheet was against Brentford, way back on the 17th January. Before that our results against them were one win, one loss and three draws. We haven’t beaten them at the G-Tech stadium since December 2021.

While Chelsea have started the season looking great in attack, defensively they’re as suspect as ever. Not only that, but their weakness at set pieces has continued. The Bees will be all over that, and they’re probably in a video session right now watching our weaknesses

It was noticed in the stadium against Hull that Xabi Alonso was speaking individually to his defenders – only to be let down straight away.

Three Chelsea regulars missed today’s training session, although we would expect two of them to be ready to play on Friday night.

There’s been a lot of talk about Estevao in recent weeks and a lack of football for him – one person backing him to be a top star is John Terry.
