Chelsea forward Mia Fishel has joined American National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) club Seattle Reign on a permanent transfer.

Reign announced news of the deal via a post on their official club website this evening.

The 24-year-old United States international attacker moves onto a new challenge after spending the last two years at Chelsea. Fishel made 21 appearances for The Blues in which she scored four goals. The player won back-to-back Barclays Women’s Super League titles with Chelsea along with both domestic cups.

Fishel’s time at Chelsea has been one of frustration. The player spent a year on the sidelines recovering from an Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) injury while starts have been in short supply when she has been fit. Fishel will be hoping for some better luck with new club Seattle Reign.

After sealing her move to Seattle Reign, Fishel said “I’m incredibly excited to sign a long-term contract in the NWSL and take this next step in my career with Seattle Reign FC. This league is one of the best in the world, and I’m looking forward to the opportunity. I can’t wait to get started and contribute to the team’s success.”

Fishel has reportedly signed on with Seattle Reign for the next four years.
