Chelsea hold ‘further talks’ for Hugo Ekitike | OneFootball

Chelsea are continuing their pursuit of Eintracht Frankfurt forward Hugo Ekitike but face competition from other teams, according to Florian Plettenberg.

Further talks have taken place and Eintracht Frankfurt are not ruling out Ekitike’s departure this summer, although they are holding out for a total package of around €100m for the Frenchman who scored 15 and provided eight assists in 33 Bundesliga games last season to help die Adler secure Champions League football.

It was reported in May that Chelsea had made contact with Ekitike’s entourage, and those talks seem to have continued as the Premier League side explore their options. But they face competition from Liverpool to sign the 22-year-old with talks between both parties also taking place.

Eintracht Frankfurt are also no strangers to playing hardball when it comes to demanding a fee for their players. Both Randal Kolo Muani and Omar Marmoush went for a combined €170m over the last two summers after joining the Hessen club on free transfers.
