Chelsea and Burnley are reportedly in “advanced talks” over a deal for Armando Broja in the summer transfer window.

The striker has struggled to land a starting spot in the first team since coming through the club’s academy as a youngster, scoring just three goals in 38 appearances over the past five years.

Broja has had loan stints with Vitesse Arnhem, Southampton, Fulham and Everton in recent seasons, but it appears he will be leaving Stamford Bridge on a permanent basis ahead of next season.

BBC Sport claims there is “broad agreement” between the two clubs on a deal, which could be worth up to £20 million.

The 23-year-old is said be “keen” on a move to Turf Moor, although he himself is yet to give the transfer the “green light”. The deal is “expected” to be completed next week.

Broja’s career to date has been marred by injuries and bad luck. He suffered an injury in a friendly against Aston Villa that kept him sidelined for the rest of the 2022/23 campaign.

The Albania international was loaned out to neighbours Fulham in February 2024, but was largely kept on the bench after Rodrigo Muniz enjoyed a terrific run of form in the Premier League.

Last year Broja joined Everton on a season-long loan, but suffered an Achilles injury at the start of the season that kept him out of action for over three months. He was further sidelined by an ankle injury in January 2025. His last appearance for Chelsea was at the end of January in 2024.

Scott Parker is looking to add goals to his Burnley squad after gaining promotion on the back of a strong defence.
