Chelsea have entered into negotiations with Ligue 1 outfit Strasbourg for the transfer of Deivid Washington.
According to BBC Sport, the 21-year-old striker is interested in a move to France. Washington has suitors in Europe as he aims to get his career back on track.
Strasbourg are making a second push for the Brazil Under-20 international, having previously tried to sign him.
An agreement was reached between both clubs for the striker in 2024, one year after he joined Chelsea for £17 million.
The deal fell through at the final stage because regulators flagged the transfer due to scrutiny around the multi-club ownership model.
Washington has been left in limbo since. He spent the 2025-26 season with Santos in Brazil, scoring once in 17 league appearances.
He made three appearances for Chelsea during Mauricio Pochettino’s stint in charge in the 2023-24 season but has been nowhere near the first team since.
Strasbourg are willing to sign the striker as they need new additions in attack, having sold Emanuel Emegha to Chelsea.
They have signed former Real Madrid youngster Jacobo Ortega, who has never played senior football.
A move for Washington, a relatively experienced young player, makes sense for all the involved parties.
